Why SNOB?

SNOB stands for, "Send No One Back," and it means, "Send no one back to Congress."  This blog is dedicated to the idea that Congress has failed the American people for years, and the best way for the American people to respond is to fire them all.  Here's why:

--It has been nearly a decade since Congress has done their most basic job: paying the bills.

--We currently have the worst split Congress since the Civil War.  That's right-- the last time Congress was this badly split, and unable to function, it took a civil war to fix the problem.

--After ten years of Congressional gridlock, including the loss of our AAA credit rating, the shut-down of our government, and millions of Americans out of work, Congress has FINALLY passed a budget, and they expect us to be so happy that we will forget all that and re-elect them.

--EVERY member of Congress is responsible.  Most helped create the gridlock by refusing to work together.  A few tried to work together, but were unable to overcome their colleagues' inertia.  Every senator and every representative was either part of the problem, or unable to fix it.  All were either bad or incompetent.

SEND NO ONE BACK!

This blog is not a partisan blog.  We do not care about your political party or affiliation.  We hope that politicians of every stripe will learn that it is political suicide to hold the United States hostage to their political agendas.  We expect our Representatives and Senators to actually govern.  We will not tolerate those who create governmental gridlock, or fail to resolve it.

SEND NO ONE BACK!

In this year's Primary elections and caucuses, don't vote for ANY incumbents.  Write in candidates if need be.  If no one is running for office against an incumbent, leave that part of the ballot blank.  It is better to cast a blank ballot than to fail to vote.  Here's why:

-- If you fail to vote, the incumbent has a greater advantage, because his or her name is known to the voting public, and can win even if hardly anyone votes.  All the candidate will learn is that the public doesn't care who gets elected, and they can do whatever they want.

-- If you vote, but cast a blank ballot for one office, the winning candidate will know that they received only a small percentage of the votes cast, and they had better work to appeal to the rest of the voters.

-- If you cast a completely blank ballot, it will still count as a ballot cast, and will reduce the percentage of the winning candidates, reducing their mandate.  It is your duty as a citizen to vote, but it is legal in every state to vote for NO ONE by casting a blank ballot.

But we do not urge you to cast a blank ballot.  It is far better to vote for a non-incumbent of your choice.  That way, you may succeed in throwing the incumbent out.  Every political party large enough to put a candidate on the ballot has many members who could do well in office.  If the incumbents cannot or will not do their job, give someone else a chance.  Our Founding Fathers never intended for the Congress to be staffed by career politicians, anyway.  But even career politicians need to learn that they cannot refuse to do their job and still keep their career.

SEND NO ONE BACK!

It is said that the American electorate has a very short memory.  Once elected, a politician can do pretty much whatever they want, then "repent" a few months before the election, and the electorate will forgive and forget.  In the past, this has largely been true.  Now, with the Internet, we have a chance to change that, to keep the pressure on our elected officials for the long haul.  Let all your friends know:
